FCI Herding Trail

At the invitation of the organization, I attended the FCI Herding Trial at Landgoed Lemmenhof.

An excellently organized competition where teams from different countries competed against each other.

During these trials, the Traditional Style takes center stage — a form of herding that tests the dog’s natural instinct, obedience, and breed-specific working style. Dogs with an FCI-recognized pedigree take part in this official competition.

On the spacious grounds of Lemmenhof, where participants stayed with their campers and caravans, the dogs worked with groups of sheep in a carefully designed course. Concentration, teamwork, enjoyment, and control were visible in every part of the trial.
